Iran central military command announced that it has closed the Strait of Hormuz, citing ongoing Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon as the reason for the move. Tehran said the attacks violate the terms of its agreement with the United States and accused both Washington and Israel of failing to uphold their commitments.

According to Iranian officials, the closure is intended as a response to what they describe as continued aggression and breaches of a ceasefire arrangement. The military warned that further measures could follow if the situation escalates.

The announcement comes amid reports of deadly Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, which have raised concerns about the stability of recent diplomatic efforts involving Iran, the United States, and regional actors.
